Usage
White crystalline powder
White, crystalline platelets or powder having a characteristic odor. One g dissolves in about 30 mL of water. It is soluble in dilute acids and in solutions of alkali hydroxides. This substance may be prepared by addition of methanethiol to acrolein; by chemical conversion of methylthiopropionic aldehyde.
