Usage
Nafarelin, sold under trade names such as Synarel, is a gonadotropin releasing hormone agonist (GnRH agonist) drug used to treat endometriosis and precocious puberty. It is also used to treat uterine fibroids, control ovarian stimulation during in vitro fertilization (IVF), and as part of cross-sex hormone therapy. The drug is used as a nasal spray two to three times a day.
Side effects of nafarelin are associated with sex hormone deprivation and include symptoms of low testosterone levels and low estrogen levels, such as hot flashes, sexual dysfunction, vaginal atrophy, and osteoporosis. Nafarelin is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH agonist) that works by preventing the gonads from producing sex hormones. It can reduce sex hormone levels in both sexes by 95 percent. Nafarelin is a peptide that is an analogue of GnRH.
Nafarelin was introduced for medical use in 1990. It is widely used around the world, including North America, Europe, and other parts of the world. The drug is one of only two medically used GnRH analogues available as a nasal spray, the other being Bucherelin

Nafarelin is used as an puberty blocker for transgender youth and to suppress testosterone levels in transgender women. Nafarelin can also be used to treat hypertrichosis and polycystic ovary syndrome by reducing gonadotropin and androgen levels. It is effective in treating benign prostatic hyperplasia
