Basic Information
Sibutramine hydrochloride is a weight-loss drug, which is the hydrochloride form of sibutramine. Its pharmacological action is completely the same as sibutramine, but its stability and solubility are better than sibutramine.
Sibutramine hydrochloride was first used to treat depression. In its clinical application, people found that its weight reduction effect was significantly stronger than its antidepressant effect.
On the one hand, it can reduce hunger and effectively control caloric intake by inhibiting serotonin reuptake;
On the other hand, it can increase the consumption of adipose tissue, enhance metabolism and promote energy consumption by activating adrenergic receptors;
It has obvious weight loss effect, but it may cause serious side effects such as increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, anorexia, insomnia, abnormal liver function, etc.
